POLITICS WITHOUT GATEKEEPERS.
Traditional parties organise through geographic branches, where a few people can control who gets in and who gets heard. SPPSA does things differently. Our members organise in Virtual Cells, these are digitally connected groups built around shared interests, professions, sectors and communities. You can take part from your phone, wherever you work and whatever your shift.
Virtual Cells make it easier for shift workers, young people and busy parents to get involved in the decisions made by the SPPSA. These Virtual Cells serve as the primary mechanism for membership recruitment, community engagement, communication, policy consultation, campaign mobilisation, leadership development and feedback collection.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A VIRTUAL CELL
- Regular online meetings to discuss local issues and party campaigns.
- Monthly reports from every Cell Leader to party leadership on membership, campaigns and the issues members raise.
- Policy feedback that goes directly into shaping our plans and Programme of Action.
- Leadership development so members can grow into future leaders on merit
- Campaign mobilisation for community safety, voter registration and local action.
