SECURITY PERSONNEL PARTY OF SOUTH AFRICA
Safe streets. Real jobs. Leaders who answer to you.
We are a new political party built by the people who already protect South Africa’s streets, homes and businesses and by every South African who is tired of crime, joblessness and leaders who disappear after election day. Our aim is to work together to turn community safety into community prosperity.
OUR COMMUNITIES
DESERVE BETTER THAN FEAR AND WAITING
Every day, South Africans lock their gates a little earlier and walk a little faster at night. Small businesses close before dark. Young people wait for jobs that never come. Promises are made at election time and forgotten by the next morning.
Meanwhile, more than two million registered security officers, the people who know our streets better than anyone are underpaid, under-recognised and left out of the conversation about how to fix it. The SPPSA believes that must change. Not with slogans, but with a practical plan to involve security personnel into the decision making of the future of our country.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
SAFER COMMUNITIES
Put trained, vetted security officers to work alongside SAPS through a formal police reserve, supported by state stipends. More eyes on the street. More support behind the law.
DIGNIFIED WORK
Fair wages, proper working conditions and professional recognition for the men and women who keep South Africa safe.
AN ECONOMY THAT NEVER SLEEPS
A 24-hour economy that keeps shops, factories and services open longer to create more jobs and opportunities
BUILD, MAKE, EMPLOY
An economic policy centred on industrialisation to create more opportunities for more people in South Africa and create lasting employment.
CLEAN, EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT
Zero tolerance for corruption. Leadership chosen on merit. The public interest always ahead of personal interest.
SECURITY IS MORE THAN A LOCKED GATE
For us, a secure life means being safe from crime but also having work, money to get through the month, food on the table and a community that holds together. That is why everything we do rests on five pillars of security.
GOOD GOVERNANCE
Good governance is not measured in speeches. It is measured in whether the streetlight works, whether the clinic has medicine, whether you don’t stand in a queue until you faint in the queue, whether your child walks home safely and whether there is work to go to in the morning.
SPPSA will judge itself and ask you to judge it by whether people’s lives are getting better in the communities where we have representation. We want the people to take us to task on the promises we make when we ask for your vote. We are as tired as you are about service delivery challenges and we want to drive change that transforms lives.
WHY SPPSA IS DIFFERENT
WE ARE NOT A UNION. A POLITICAL VOICE
We are not a trade union, we are a political party that aims to shape every worker’s and every family’s life.
FUNDED BY MEMBERS ONLY
We do not accept donations or sponsorships. The only people we owe are the members who fund us
NO GATEKEEPERS
Our Virtual Cells let anyone take part from their phone, without needing to know the right people or belong to the right faction.
MERIT, NOT CONNECTIONS
Positions and opportunities in SPPSA are earned through ability, contribution and conduct.
OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Rooted in community
Our founding leaders have spent decades contributing towards community development and safety of communities, working with children, youth, civic forums and across different ward committees. They know what change is needed because they have been living on the ground in these communities and they know what needs to be done to drive change that improves the lives of the people on the ground.
